We hope this festive season is one filled with friends, family, food, and – of course – good tequila. It’s been another successful and exciting year for us at Tequila Ocho and we want to thank you all for your continuing support.

Tequila Ocho is proud to have sponsored mothers2mothers’ fundraiser dinner hosted by Salma Hayek and François Pinault in London. During the evening, mothers2mothers raised over one million pounds towards their charity. Click here to read more.

Superstar Bartender Alex Kratena recently visited Manila for a guest shift and featured Ocho on his menu!

Ocho Ambassador Phil Bayly recently put on a series of Tequila, Cheese & Oyster pairings in Australia. The surprising pairing went down remarkably well with the events’ attendees.

Tequila Ocho mentioned in the Metro’s recent article about tequila

“Ocho Reposado – Subtly aged for eight weeks in oak barrels, Ocho Reposado has an aroma of coffee, bright agave and pineapple, with delicately balanced flavours of white pepper, vanilla, and dark bitter chocolate, with the oak leaving a mocha and soft vanilla finish on the palate. This is the tequila that enticed me back into the world of tequila. I sipped it for a night and it completely altered my perspective on tequila.”

Where We’re Drinking this Month

This month saw London venue Omeara launch a full size Ski Chalet ‘Après London‘ near London Bridge.

Their Après Hot Chocolate is so delicious we had to share the recipe:

30ml/1 oz. Ocho Añejo
30ml/1 oz. Green Chartreuse
150ml/5 oz. Mexican Hot Chocolate*
Mix all ingredients in mug, garnish with whipped cream and a dusting of cocoa powder.

*To make Mexican Hot Chocolate:
6 (12-ounce) cans evaporated milk
4 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Pinch cayenne pepper (to taste)
2 (12-ounce) bags semisweet chocolate chips (Hershey’s works well)

In a large pot over medium heat, whisk together milk, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and nutmeg. Add chocolate chips. Stir until chocolate is melted. Cover and turn heat to low for 5 minutes.
